Job description:
A leader in the car rental industry, Europcar has an exhilarating opportunity for a National Risk Investigator. The successful incumbent would need to be independent and self-sufficient with a strong drive to provide investigative support to the fast paced business environment.

Position overview: The purpose of the position is to provide investigative expertise, primarily related to vehicle and rental risk and recovery, to the business in compliance with legislation and company policies and procedures in order to mitigate risk.

Minimum Experience:
2 years investigative experience in a similar environment.

Minimum Qualification:
• Matric or equivalent NQF level 4 qualification.

Preferred Qualification:
• Investigation/Risk/other relevant tertiary qualification.

Minimum Requirements:
• Valid unendorsed drivers’ license.
• Computer literate: proficient at an intermediate level in Excel, Word & Outlook.
• Working knowledge of SAPS legislation specifically around theft and fraud.

NB! The appointed person will be on permanent standby and therefore flexibility to work after hours including weekends is a requirement.

Job Outputs:
• Conduct investigations in order to establish and verify facts that leads to the identification and reduction of business risks and vehicle recovery.
• Adhere to risk management tools and ensure that business risk processes are followed.
• Ensure effective and prompt response to business notifications on matters requiring investigation.
• Ensure that all incidents/criminal activity involving customers and employees are investigated.
• Ensure relevant vehicles are uplifted from the pound.
• Maintain the collection of risk related information and produce reports that identifies losses and potential risk exposures.
• Ensure that case dockets are created for each investigation, all relevant information is recorded, witnesses and evidence required for a criminal prosecution, disciplinary process or liability claim is secured.
• Facilitate risk audit processes to ensure compliance to policies, procedures and alignment with approved practices.
• Build a network of contacts in order to recruit and maintain informers, to ensure effective information gathering regarding criminal activity impacting the business.
• Establish and maintain effective communication within local and regional SAPS structures.
• Provide appropriate assistance to SAPS in order to ensure criminal prosecution of any relevant cases.
• Ensure that there is compliance with relevant legislative acts and security standards.
